Hottest Latinas in the Entertainment Industry #1

Being Latina and breaking into the entertainment industry is not easy. Many of the most admirable women in the industry are Latinas. I truly admire every one of them for their hard work and representing the Latino community. Ever wonder how they got discovered? Every week I’ll pick one and write about how they started their careers. I did a little bit of research and this week I picked…

This Colombian hottie is my favorite. She is funny, smart, and beautiful. Sofia was discovered at the age of 17 by a photographer while tanning on a beach in Colombia. Her first acting role was in a Pepsi commercial.

She later transitioned to hosting. She hosted a few shows on Univision, the most recognized hispanic network.  Of course her career doesn’t end there. Everyone wanted more of the charismatic Colombian. She took an acting role on:  Big Trouble (2002), Chasing Papi ( (2003), Soul Plane (2004), Four Brothers (2005), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Meet the Browns (2008), Happy Feet(2011), and The Smurfs (2011). Films are not her only specialties, she also signed a contract with ABC to appear on Hot Properties, The Knights of Prosperity, and the most talked about show, Modern Family.

Sofia is also the new face of Diet Pepsi.

Sofia has a 2o-year-old son named Manolo Gonzalez. In interviews, she talks about Manolo always making fun of her heavy accent. It certainly looks like they have a good mother and son relationship.

-“In 1999 Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú awarded Vergara the Hispanic Woman of the Year Award, commending her leadership skills representing the qualities Latina women have to offer to the world.”

– “In 2007 she was named one of The 25 Most Powerful Hispanic Women in the Entertainment Industry by The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard.”

– ” Studied pre-dentistry at the University of Columbia for three years. Only a few semesters were left to graduate before she moved to another country to pursue her acting/modeling career.”

I love Sofia. I can relate to her in a lot of ways, especially being a Latina :). Stay tuned for next week’s Hottest Latinas in the Entertainment Industry post!

Zumba Fitness DVD Launch with Nikki HIlton

I attended the Zumba Fitness DVD Launch at the Music Box venue. Nikki Hilton was releasing her first Zumba fitness video. Many celebrities attended to do a bit of Zumba workout on stage. The whole performance was hilarious. The best part of the event was meeting and interviewing Nikki Hilton. She asked me how tall I was. I wonder why, lol.

Although you can only see my hand and phone, I’m interviewing Nikki here. She was nice.

I got invited to a soiree at a showroom a few weeks ago. The place was fancy, the food was great, and most importantly, I had amazing company. Pictures coming right up!…

Say NO to Wrinkles!

Wrinkles on my face? No, thanks! I have a couple of tricks to prevent and get rid of wrinkles. The following tips are easy to make and can be found in your own kitchen. Hope they all help!

Honey:  This ingredient was not only made for pancakes. This is actually one of the best homemade anti-wrinkle mask. Rinse face with warm water. Note: Extremely hot water increases wrinkles. Apply honey on your face and leave it for 30 minutes. Make sure to massage face while rinsing off.

Bananas: Puree about two or three bananas. Apply for 30 minutes.

Coconut Oil: Massage face with coconut oil every night for 10 minutes.

Hosting Rising Stars

Last night, I hosted a show called Rising Stars. The concept was about individuals getting started in the fashion and music industry. I interviewed a fashion designer and a LA based duo. We talked about what exactly inspired them to pursue their dream and much more. The cast and everyone else who was part of the show did an amazing job. It was an awesome experience. Can’t wait to do it again! 🙂

Waiting to get glammed-up…

Getting camera ready!

Making sure the script is written correctly on the teleprompter.

Lets get this show on the road!

Look Ma, I’m on TV! 🙂

I haven’t posted any of my favorite poems lately. I found this one a while a go. I love it. A woman’s worth and strength cannot be compared to anything.

A Womans Worth

She gave life. She is a wife.
She is a mother and she is a friend.
She is a sister a survivor to the end.

Appreciate her, we don’t dare.
Ask her worries, we don’t care.
Wipe away her tears, they are invisible as air.

She works cooks and clean.
She laughs, helps comfort, and hides her pain.
When you struggle she pulls you through

All this is she and what do we do?
Complain and create a mess.
Provide stress and leave her feeling depressed..
Push her away and ignore her advice.
Tell her she is nothing without thinking twice.

She was raped tortured and abused.
Told she was nothing and would always be used just for pleasure forget her pain.

She swallows her pride, put her feelings aside.
Does as you need in order for you to be free.
Ignores your ignorance and tolerates your flaws.
You call her Bitch, Slut, Hoe and Tramp
She answers with pride dignity and a complete loss of self.
You call her nothing.
I call her Strong, Smart, Sensual, Caring, Giving, Surviving, Tolerant and powerful
I call her WOMAN!
